The LGBTQ+ People of Color Global South Summit is a virtual conference hosted by DGBM, an organization from New York City that promotes lesbian, gay, transgender, and queer rights through various methods. The summit’s goal was to place emphasis on LGBTQ+ groups below the equator and the unique challenges they face. This particular session of the summit, titled “Are we leaving no one behind? Moving towards LGBTQ+ Economic Inclusion in Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines, focused on groups in Southeast Asia and their fight for economic inclusion. The countries throughout this program (Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, and Philippines), share their organization’s mission of promoting economic inclusion and dismantling workplace discrimination, a common experience among LGBTQ+ employees.

“The first step to LGBTQI workplace inclusion is making the public aware that LGBTQI people are human too.”
